Tower Infotech Limited & Anr. Vs Union of India and Ors. (Calcutta High Court)

The Calcutta High Court took on record the report of the One Man Committee and directed that it be circulated to all necessary parties. The report of the Registrar, Original Side was also kept on record. Referring to an order dated 12 June 2018 passed by Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, the Court noted that the Registrar, Original Side had been directed to transfer ₹1,38,58,686 along with the interest generated thereon from the fixed deposit to the One Man Committee in respect of Tower Infotech Limited.

The Court requested the Registrar, Original Side to transfer the said amount with accrued interest to the One Man Committee at the earliest and to file a report on the next date of hearing. The matter was directed to be listed on 30 July 2026. In WPA 20207 of 2025, the petitioner’s request to withdraw the writ petition was allowed, and the writ petition was dismissed as withdrawn. The petitioner’s written instruction was taken on record.

FULL TEXT OF THE JUDGMENT/ORDER OF CALCUTTA HIGH COURT

Report filed by the One Man Committee is taken on record.

Let the report be circulated upon all the necessary parties.

Report filed by the Registrar, Original Side be kept with the record.

From the report it is seen that on 12th June, 2018 Their Lordships the Hon’ble Justice Aniruddha Bose and the Hon’ble Justice Joymalya Bagchi had directed the Registrar, Original Side to transfer an amount of Rs.1,38,58,686/- (Rupees One Crore Thirty Eight Lakh Fifty Eight Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Six only) along with interest generated therefrom by making such fixed deposit of the said sum to the One Man Committee in respect of Tower Infotech Limited.

The Registrar, Original Side is requested to transfer of that amount of Rs.1,38,58,686/- (Rupees One Crore Thirty Eight Lakh Fifty Eight Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Six only) along with interest generated therefrom to the One Man Committee at an earliest and file report on the next date of hearing.

Let this matter again appear in the list on 30th July, 2026.
