SEBI and the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 24, 2025, to collaborate on research, education, training, skill development, and strengthening forensic capabilities. Under the MoU, NFSU will support SEBI in enhancing the skills of its officers in areas such as digital forensics, forensic accounting, and cybersecurity through specially tailored courses, workshops, seminars, and conferences. The partnership allows both organizations to leverage each other’s expertise, facilities, and resources to improve operational efficiency and overall output. It also includes developing state-of-the-art infrastructure and laboratories in cybersecurity, digital forensics, forensic accounting, and data analytics. Knowledge-sharing arrangements under the MoU will enable both parties to benefit from mutual expertise, subject to applicable laws. The collaboration aims to strengthen SEBI’s digital forensic and analytical capabilities, boost skill development for its officers, and create a framework for continuous professional training and capacity building within India’s securities regulatory framework.

Memorandum of Understanding between Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU)
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) on November 24, 2025.
NFSU has been established under the National Forensic Sciences University Act, 2020.
The collaboration will provide considerable advantage and strengths in the areas including but not limited to research, education, training, skill development and strengthening forensic capabilities. The salient features of the MoU are as follows:
1. To undertake capacity building, development and enhancement of skills of officers of SEBI in the fields of digital forensic, forensic accounting, cyber security etc.
2. To design specially tailored courses / training program for SEBI officers to enhance their efficiency and overall output.
3. To organize training, seminars, conferences and workshops on topics of mutual interest and invite each other’s officers / faculties to participate.
4. To use the expertise, facilities and resources available to enhance efficiency and overall output.
5. To strengthen the capabilities of SEBI in digital forensics by developing or providing consultancy to develop state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities at SEBI, Mumbai or at any other place as per the requirement of SEBI.
6. Specialized collaborations like setting-up laboratories in the domain of cyber security, digital forensics, forensic accounting, data analytics or allied sciences under the consultancy umbrella.
7. Subject to the provisions of applicable laws, both the parties agree to share knowledge, which would be useful to the other party in effective discharge of its functions.
