Tools and features available on Aayakar Setu

1. TRP At Your Door Step

The Department facilitates small and marginal Tax Payers by providing assistance of Tax Return Preparer at very nominal cost. The module consists of self driven automated solution through cloud/Mobile App solution to connect the TRPs and taxpayers online. The tool facilitates taxpayer to register herself on the website and locate the nearest TRP ( via Google Maps ) to file her Income Tax return.

2. Tax Tools

The Tax Payers are facilitated for various tax calculations required to compute taxes and file Income Tax Return ( ITR ). For this purpose, following customized tax tools are available, which provides the output required for ITR on the basis of inputs/ information provided by the user. The list of available Tax Tools is as under :

3. Key Services / Questionnaire based flow of the information

The user/tax payer is assisted with various services offered by Income Tax Department along with interactive Question-and-Answer based information for these services listed hereunder :

  • PAN :Easy accessibility of services related to PAN i.e., PAN application, PAN surrender, PAN correction, PAN verification, Linking Aadhar with PAN, necessary information/ documents required for PAN application through the App.
  • TAN : TAN services at the fingertips of the users i.e., TAN application, Online TAN registration, Change in TAN data, documents required for TAN application.
  • Return Preparation : Assistances for Tax Return preparation through downloading forms, checking of form 26AS, assistance of TRP,
  • filing of revised return, refund status, e-verification of return file, etc.
  • TDS/Traces : Providing links to all the services useful for a tax deductor/collector, tax deductee at one place with complete bifurcation of services between Tax Deductor/Deductee, etc.
  • Tax Payment : Tax payment made easy with this utility, including tax calculation, viewing of tax credit statement, challans status enquiry etc.

4. e-Nivaran – Got a problem ?

‘e-Nivaran’ is a unified electronic grievance redressal system in order to fast track taxpayer grievances and ensure early resolution and redressal of their complaints. This facility helps the Tax Payers in registering their grievances related to various issues such as Refund Status, tax credit mismatch etc.

5. Tax Gyaan

It’s a mobile enabled game accessible through “Aaykar Setu App” with Multiple choice question related to Income Tax Department, to enrich the knowledge of the users.

6. “ASK IT”-An Artificial Intelligence Based Chat Box

It is a chat box build upon artificial intelligence through virtual machine solution. It functions as CHATBOX (A virtual machine chatting with the user) to help the user on 24×7 basis 365 days and provides solution to queries of taxpayers relating to PAN, TAN, TDS, Return Filing, Refund Status, Tax Payment, etc., on real time basis. The highlights of the ASK IT are:

  • 24 X 7, 365 days accessible;
  • User can input his own query;
  • Quick support through ‘live chat’ option in case the answer to the taxpayers query is not available;

7. Live Chat with Tax Expert

The Tax Payers can get their queries resolved through a Live Chat option at TPS Section/”Aaykar Setu App”. In this case, a customer support executive ( Tax Expert) will help the user to resolve their queries. This facility is available on working days from Monday to Friday between 10 AM to 6 PM.

8. SUBSCRIBE-Regular Updates on email/SMS

The Tax Payers can subscribe for the regular updates as regards notifications, circulars, orders etc. issued by the Income Tax Department on his personal e-mail address.

9. Locate Aaykar Sewa Kendra/TPS officer

This service facilitates Tax Payers to locate the contact details of jurisdictional TPS officers across the country. The Tax Payers can also access following information through this utility:

♦ Access the information of Aaykar Seva Kendra across India;

♦ Access the information of the Jurisdictional Officer;

♦ The Services are linked with Google Map to help Tax Payers to locate a particular office.

♦ The Tax Payers can also use the “Get Direction” button to reach that particular office through Google Map.

Dedicated Helpline/Call Centre

A dedicated customer support is provisioned to resolve the queries of the users related to Taxpayer Services during office hours from Monday to Saturday between 9 AM to 6 PM. The customer care number is 1800-10-23788
