If you are fed up of standing in a queue for securing a birth certificate for your newborn, there is good news as the government’s soon to be launched health portal will reduce your inconvenience by making the process a click away. Besides disseminating health-related information among the masses, the ‘National Health Portal’ will also help registering births by applying online, minister of state for health Dinesh Trivedi  said.

“Standing in the queue for registering a birth certificate will soon be over as the National Health Portal will help you file the application online and get the certificate online,” he told the Seventh Global Knowledge Millennium in New Delhi .

The ministry is also looking at separate e-health cards for children to track their progress, Trivedi said.

Maintaining that India  is capable of tackling any kind health-related problem, he said “We need to change our attitude towards health and redefine what the health is all about. In India, we are just addressing sickness not health.”
