Subject : Celebration of 24th February we celebrate “Excise Day”

Every year on th 24th of February we celebrate “Excise Day”, to instill a sense of oneness amongst officers of the Department and to help chenilles energy for ensuring better tax compliance.  This year “Excise Day” is significant in view of the fact that the Department is completing 50 years in the service of the Nation and it is proposed to celebrate 24th February as “Golden Jubilee year”.

2. The celebration of “Excise Day” will include publication of write-ups/articles in major newspapers/journals/magazines by officers of the Department, organisation of cultural programmes in the Collectorate/Divisional Head quarters, holding of seminars persons in various fields, distribution of prizes/awards, as well as organizing a public Redressal Week, Arrears Clearance Week etc.

3. It is, therefore, requested that “Excise Day” may be celebrated in your Collectorate/Directorate accordingly and every effort made to project the various changes/reforms being undertaken in the Department in the course of the year.  The expenses on the celebration of the “Excise Day” will be met out of the budget already allocated to you.
