The Government of India issued Notification No. 9 (RE-2000)/1997-2002 on April 7, 2000, which serves as a corrigendum to Notification No. 2(RE-2000)/1997-2002, dated March 31, 2000. The corrigendum, issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), updates specific entries in the Export and Import Policy. Notably, it revises the EXIM code for certain goods. For example, under EXIM Code 290349 00, a new category “Other than Ozone depleting substances” has been added with the policy marked as “Free,” while the category “Other” is now listed as “Restricted” under EXIM Code 290349 00. Additionally, the amendments specify the conditions for the import of items, and these changes are effective retroactively from March 31, 2000. This adjustment is aimed at ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and facilitating smoother trade operations. The corrigendum is part of the government’s ongoing effort to refine the Export and Import Policy to meet current market and environmental standards.
