Summary: The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), through Trade Notice No. 31/2026-27 dated 21 October 2026, issued a precautionary advisory concerning M/s Julfikar Fashions Limited, Mirpur, Bangladesh, under paragraph 8.07(d) of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023. The advisory follows a Quality Control & Trade Dispute complaint against the entity. DGFT stated that the matter had been pursued through appropriate diplomatic and administrative channels, but repeated efforts and follow-up communications had not elicited a substantive response from the firm or the relevant authorities. This lack of cooperation impeded verification of the facts and an amicable resolution. To safeguard Indian exporters and trade stakeholders, DGFT advised Export Promotion Councils, Industry Associations, Regional Authorities, ECGC, Authorised Dealer Banks and other concerned stakeholders to exercise heightened vigilance. Stakeholders should undertake comprehensive due diligence before entering into commercial arrangements, sensitise exporters, importers and other trade participants, and carefully assess the risk profile of proposed transactions. The development should also be considered while processing applications, extending financial or credit support, providing trade facilitation services, or issuing certifications and recommendations. Adverse experiences, payment-related issues, contractual disputes and other relevant information concerning the entity should be promptly reported to DGFT. The notice expressly states that the advisory is purely precautionary, based on presently available information, and intended to alert the trading community to potential risks.
