The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), issued Public Notice No. 01/2024, dated April 9th, 2024. This notice pertains to the modification of Standard Input Output Norm (SION) E-124, specifically addressing the export of refined Sunflower Oil (Edible Grade).
The amendment in SION E-124 reflects changes in the import entitlements concerning various items required for the production of refined Sunflower Oil (Edible Grade). Previously, the norm allowed for the export of 1 metric ton of refined sunflower oil against specific quantities of raw materials. However, with the latest modification, the import entitlements have been revised for several essential components.
The amended import items and quantities now include Crude Sunflower Oil (Edible Grade) with a Free Fatty Acid (FFA) range of 0.5 to 1.8%, Caustic Lye (48% Lye), Phosphoric Acid, Citric Acid, TONSIL Bleaching Earth, and Filter Aid. Each of these components plays a crucial role in the refining process, ensuring the production of high-quality edible-grade sunflower oil.
This modification in SION E-124 signifies a proactive approach by the DGFT to align import entitlements with industry requirements and international standards. By revising the import quantities, the DGFT aims to facilitate smoother trade operations while maintaining the quality and competitiveness of Indian exports in the global market.
