Summary: The procedure for registering an Export Oriented Unit (EOU) under the Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty (IGCR) has been streamlined through automation, making it more efficient and compliant. The process begins with the user logging into the ICEGATE portal and navigating to the IGCR section under Financial Services. The user must submit a Prior Intimation Request form with detailed information, followed by OTP verification. Upon validation, an Importer Identification Number (IIN) is generated. The user can then manage bond or bank guarantee details, either by submitting a new bond or topping up an existing one. After submitting the application, the user must provide the required physical documents to the Export Promotion Council (EPC). Once these documents are verified, the Commissioner grants approval. This automated procedure ensures a smoother process for EOUs, enhancing compliance and facilitating the import of goods at concessional duty rates.
