Customs Duty exemption on Import of COVID-19 vaccine extended till 30.06.2022

CBIC exempts COVID-19 vaccines from basic Custom duty till 30^th June, 2022 vide Notification No. 61/2021-Customs, Dated 31^st December, 2021. Exemption from Customs Duty given earlier on Import of COVID-19 vaccine (upto December, 2021) has now been extended till 30^th June, 2022.

G.S.R. 926(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 45/2021-Customs, dated the 29^th September, 2021, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Subsection (i), vide number G.S.R. 672(E), dated the 29^th September, 2021, namely:-

In the said notification, in paragraph 2, for the figures, letters and word “31^st December, 2021”, the figures, letters and word “30^th June, 2022” shall be substituted.
