Seeks to further amend notification No. 50/2017-Customs dated the 30th June, 2017, so as to notify BCD related changes.
The Indian Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 30/2024-Customs on July 23, 2024, to amend Notification No. 50/2017-Customs, dated June 30, 2017. The amendments address changes in the Basic Customs Duty (BCD) on various goods. Key changes include the introduction of new entries such as live SPF Vannamei shrimp brood stock, Artemia, and Shea Nuts, with specified duty rates ranging from nil to 15%. Several entries saw alterations, including the exemption of certain goods from duty, effective from October 1, 2024. These updates also feature specific goods for manufacturing aquatic feed, the textiles industry, and the solar photovoltaic cell sector, among others. The notification aims to adjust import duty rates in response to evolving industry needs and public interest considerations, maintaining the relevance and competitiveness of Indian manufacturing and export sectors.
