The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has taken disciplinary action against five Chartered Accountants for professional misconduct under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. CA. G Selvaraj from Madurai has been removed from the ICAI Register for one month. CA. Piyush Dadhich from Bengaluru faces a 120-day suspension and a Rs. 20,000 fine for non-payment within the stipulated time. CA. Santhosh D N from Bengaluru has been removed for three years and 30 days, along with a Rs. 2,00,000 fine, due to default in payment. CA. Karthik Mohan from Bengaluru has been suspended for two months and fined Rs. 20,000, which has been paid. Lastly, CA. Parameswari D from Chennai has been removed for 90 days, including an additional 30 days for failing to pay a Rs. 20,000 fine. These actions, effective from August 30, 2024, are in accordance with ICAI’s disciplinary rules and regulations.
