EXTENSION OF ICSI UDIN AMNESTY SCHEME, 2023
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has extended the last date of UDIN Amnesty Scheme- 2023 (Amnesty Scheme) for providing a one-time opportunity to the Company Secretary in Practice. The Amnesty Scheme shall remain open till 15th April 2023.
Under the Amnesty Scheme, a Company Secretary in Practice may:-
i. Generate the UDINs if missed earlier,
ii. Rectify the active UDIN details recorded at the time of generation,
iii. Revoke unutilized UDINs.
All UDINs generated from 1st April, 2022 and to be generated upto the closure of the Scheme i.e. 15th April, 2023 shall be eligible to avail the benefit of Amnesty Scheme.
No fees shall be charged for applying under the Amnesty Scheme. The process of application is completely online and in straight through process (STP) mode. For availing the scheme, login at UDIN website (https://stimulate.icsi.edu/udin/ ) or members portal
The Practicing Company Secretary applying under the ICSI UDIN Amnesty Scheme, 2023 shall be granted immunity from the applicability of the provisions of Para 8 of the UDIN Guidelines in respect of the UDINs for which request under this Amnesty Scheme has been made and disciplinary proceedings shall not be initiated or entertained in this respect. However, the immunity under this Scheme shall not be granted to members against whom any disciplinary proceeding for non-adherence to UDIN Guidelines is pending at any stage before the Disciplinary Directorate of ICSI.
Points to remember:-
- There is no limit on the number of UDINs that can be modified / revoked under the scheme.
- Only active UDIN is eligible for modification/rectification under the Amnesty Scheme.
- The member needs to specify the suitable reasons at the time of making modification under the Scheme.
- A particular UDIN can be modified / revoked only once.
- UDIN once revoked shall not be reactivated.
