APL Apollo Tubes Limited, a leading manufacturer of structural steel tubes in India, has reported a significant increase in its financial performance for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027. The company’s unaudited financial results for the quarter ending September 30, 2026, reveal substantial year-on-year growth across key metrics, reflecting its strong market positioning and strategic expansion efforts.
For Q2 FY27, APL Apollo achieved a sales volume of 963,000 tonnes, marking a 13% increase compared to the same quarter last year. This growth in sales volume was accompanied by a 34% rise in revenue, which reached ₹70.0 billion. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) also saw a notable increase of 29% year-on-year, totalling ₹5.8 billion. The EBITDA per tonne improved by 15% to ₹5,999, indicating enhanced operational efficiency.
The company’s net profit for the quarter stood at ₹3.8 billion, a 27% increase from the previous year, while cash profit rose by 25% to ₹4.5 billion. APL Apollo’s financial health was further underscored by its net cash position of ₹16.3 billion at the end of the first half of FY27, up from ₹15.3 billion at the close of FY26. The company maintained a net working capital of zero days, showcasing its effective management of resources.
APL Apollo’s robust performance is attributed to its strategic capacity expansion and diversification efforts. The company is on track with its capital expenditure plan, aiming to increase its production capacity from the current 5 million tonnes to 8 million tonnes by FY28. This expansion includes greenfield and brownfield projects across India, as well as plant modernisation initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
Market analysts view APL Apollo’s strong financial results as a testament to its successful business strategy and market leadership in the structural steel tubes sector. The company’s focus on expanding its product portfolio and enhancing operational efficiencies positions it well to capitalise on the growing demand for structural steel products in India and abroad. As APL Apollo continues to execute its growth plans, it remains a key player to watch in the industry.
