Notification No. 25(RE-99)/1997-2002, issued on August 13, 1999, modifies onion export policies under the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002. It revises earlier provisions from Notification No. 19(RE-99) dated July 8, 1999, for ITC Code 0703. The amended policy allows canalized export of Bangalore Rose onions through the Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing and Export Corporation Ltd. (KAPPEC Ltd.) at a limit of 5,000 metric tons per month until September 7, 1999. Additionally, the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) is authorized to export 5,000 metric tons of other onion varieties, excluding Poddusu and Bangalore Rose, to Sri Lanka and Mauritius until September 30, 1999. These measures aim to regulate onion exports effectively while addressing demand in specific markets.
