Shri Ravi Mital takes charge as Chairperson of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India

Shri Ravi Mital took charge as Chairperson of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India in New Delhi today.

A 1986 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, Shri Ravi Mital holds degrees of B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and M.Phil. in Environmental Science.

Prior to joining the IBBI as Chairperson, he superannuated from the position of Secretary, Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. He has also served as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. He has also served on Boards of various organisations including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, GIC Re etc. During his service, he has served in varied capacities in various Ministries and Departments of the Government.

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 11th February, 2022

S.O. 574(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 189 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (31of 2016), the Central Government hereby appoints Shri Ravi Mital, as Chairperson of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India for a period of five years or upto the age of sixty-five years, whichever is the earlier.

2. Shri Ravi Mital has assumed the office of the Chairperson on the 9th February, 2022.
