Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) have introduced an online databank for all existing and aspiring Independent Directors. The databank has been originated from the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Fifth Amendment Rules, 2019 issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on 22/10/2019.
As per the said rules, all existing Independent Directors need to empanel with this databank within 3 months of commencement of these rules i.e. 01/12/2019.
If you have a valid DIN registered with MCA, then you can proceed for Individual Empanelment with registered DIN by following certain steps.
If you do not possess a DIN, then you can proceed for empanelment with the Databank by using the Permanent Account Number (PAN) or Passport Number that you have registered with MCA21 Portal. If you have neither registered PAN nor Passport Number with MCA, then empanel with the Databank by using your PAN or Passport Number.
THE PROCESS OF INDIVIDUAL EMPANELMENT:
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid DIN/PAN/Passport
- Registration in MCA Portal
Process in MCA Portal
Step 1
Login to MCA Portal at www.mca.gov.in
Step 2
Go to “MCA Services”, then click on “Individual Registration” under ID Databank Registration.
Step-03
Enter DIN/PAN/Passport details and click on “Submit”.
Step-04
Enter email ID and mobile no. (if not pre-populated). Enter Country code and Click on “Send OTP”.
Step-05
Enter OTP & click on “Verify OTP”.
Step-06
Upon successful verification, click on “Proceed” button to receive login credentials for Databank in email and mobile.
You will now be redirected to Independent Directors’ Data Bank.
Process in Databank
Step-01
Login to Independent Director’s Databank
(To login, use the login credentials (user id and password) already sent to your registered mobile no. login credentials have already been sent to your registered email id. If you do not find the email in your inbox, please check your junk / spam folders. Change the default password after first login is advisable.)
Step-02
Fill profile with Personal, Educational, and Experience Details and submit declaration.
Step-03
After submitting details, pay subscription fee.
Note: Subscription for 1 year is Rs. 5000 + 18% GST. Subscription for 5 year and lifetime have not yet been prescribed.
