The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the Exposure Draft for the “Guidance Note on Audit of Banks” (2025 Edition) for public feedback. This guidance is published annually to assist auditors in conducting statutory audits of banks and their branches. The Exposure Draft provides updates and revisions to the audit procedures and practices for banks. AASB has invited stakeholders to submit their comments on the draft by February 5, 2025. Comments can be submitted via email to the AASB or through postal mail at ICAI Bhawan, New Delhi. The draft can be accessed through the ICAI website.

Exposure Draft of Guidance Note on Audit of Banks (2025 Edition)
The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) of ICAI under the authority of the Council of ICAI brings out the revised edition of “Guidance Note on Audit of Banks” every year to provide detailed guidance to auditors on statutory audit of banks and bank branches. AASB is in the process of bringing out the Guidance Note on Audit of Banks (2025 Edition).
