Hi Friends!

My name is CA Rohan R. Pingle & today I am going to share with you my experience of becoming a Chartered Accountant. As you all know after results out, rank holders are interviewed and they should; because they deserve that.

But I think interviews of rank holders are beneficial to those who are giving their 1st and or 2nd attempt and not to those who are giving their 5th or 6th and onwards attempt. This is the reason why I am writing this article. I enrolled to CA course after my graduation in the year 2005. At the same time I joined as employee with my sir CA Mr. Rajendra Y. Padhye & he is the person who motivated me to pursue CA course. I cleared my Inter CA in 2nd attempt in the year 2007. Then I completed my articleship at same place. Even after that I didn’t left my job & I continued with my sir. My Final CA attempt started from the year 2009. In the year 2010 just before 2 days of my November attempt my father got heart attack and unfortunately he permanently left us. Even though I given that attempt completely and attempted all the 8 papers. Result was absolutely negative but what I learned was “show must go on”.

My CA Journey – 15 years to become a Chartered Accountant

I was appearing both groups and in the year 2012, I cleared my 1st group of Final CA. Meantime, I married with a beautiful girl Ruchika in the year 2014. In 2015 November attempt, I got exemption in Indirect Tax paper. In that attempt I was fail by 10 marks due to costing paper. As you all know that exemption carried forward for next 3 attempts. In the next 3 attempts even though I had exemption, I was unable to clear the 2nd group. So my exemption got withdrawn and I had to attempt 4 papers again. Meantime, GST was introduced and Indirect Tax paper now had GST instead of Service tax. So my all notes of Service tax got scrapped and I had to start from the scratch.

By reading this article until now, you would realise how much disheartened I would be in those years. But every time I bounce back & never give up until I succeed. Almost 15 years of patience, dedication, and hard work paid off today & now I can proudly prefix these 2 letters before my name CA Rohan R. Pingle.

Without my family & my Sir CA Mr. Rajendra Y. Padhye’s support I wouldn’t achieve this and the moral of the story is “You succeed when you never give up”!

I hope this small write-up about my CA journey motivate those who are going from the same stage which I was already went and help them to achieve their goal of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
