Rule 66 is amended vide Notification No. VAT 1512/CR-61/Taxation-1 dated 1st June 2012 and As per the amended rule, the report of the audit under section 61 shall be submitted within 8 months from the end of the year to which the report relates. Earlier it was 10 months. It means the due date to file audit report for Financial year 2011-12 is 30th November 2012. This rule deals with procedural aspect of filing of audit report.
Rule 40 of Rajasthan VAT Rules governs the Works Contract Tax liability of the awarder which can be summarized as below. 1. Submit Information to VAT Department Awarder Shall submit information to his jurisdictional Asstt Comm or ACTO upon entering into a works contract exceeding Rs. 5 Lacs. Time limit for submitting of this information is within 1 month from the date of contract. Form VAT-40 is the form prescribed for submission of this information.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 41 of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 (Mah. IX of 2005), the Government of Maharashtra hereby rescinds with effect from the 1st April 2012, the Government Notification, Finance Department, No. VAT.1507/CR-44/ Taxation-1, dated the 6th December 2007.
