FSSAI Appoints 24 Fortified Rice Safety Officers

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued a notification on July 2, 2025, designating 24 officers from the Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, as Food Safety Officers specifically for Fortified Rice Kernel. This action, taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, grants these individuals the authority to oversee the safety and standards of fortified rice. The appointments are effective from the date of the notification’s publication. The list of appointed officers includes individuals such as Dr. Raj Kishor Shahi, Sh. Pramod Kumar Singh, Dr. Preeti Shukla, and others, totaling 24 designees.
