Summary: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has notified the establishment of the Junagadh Branch of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) in Gujarat, with effect from 7 October 2026. The notification, No. 1-CA (7)/246/2026, dated 27 October 2026, has been issued by the ICAI Council in exercise of its powers under Regulation 159(1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. The new branch will be known as the Junagadh Branch of Western India Regional Council, with its headquarters at Junagadh, Gujarat. The establishment of this branch will extend ICAI’s regional institutional presence and provide a designated branch structure for chartered accountants within the notified territorial jurisdiction. The territorial jurisdiction of the Junagadh Branch will include Junagadh city and seven specified cities and towns situated within a distance of 50 kilometres from the city limits of Junagadh. These are Malia Hatina, Vanthali, Jetpur, Keshod, Upleta, Madhavpur Ghed and Mangrol. In accordance with Regulation 159(3) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the branch will function under the control, supervision and direction of the ICAI Council through the Western India Regional Council. It will also be required to comply with directions issued by the Council from time to time. The notification establishes the branch’s official name, headquarters, geographical coverage and administrative reporting framework. No. 1-CA (7)/246/2026.— In pursuance of the Regulation 159 (1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to notify the setting up of a Branch of Western India Regional Council at Junagadh (Gujarat) with effect from 07th October, 2026.
The Branch shall be known as Junagadh Branch of Western India Regional Council and its Headquarters shall be Junagadh (Gujarat). The Jurisdiction of the Branch shall besides Junagadh city, include the following cities/towns falling within a distance of 50 kms from the city limits of Junagadh: –

2. Vanthali
3. Jetpur
4. Keshod
5. Upleta
6. Madhavpur Ghed
7. Mangrol
As prescribed under sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 159, the Branch shall function subject to the control, supervision and direction of the Council through Western India Regional Council and shall carry out such directions as may, from time to time, be issued by the Council.
