The quarter saw Premier Energies achieving record production figures, with 916 MW of solar cells produced at a remarkable 99% capacity utilisation. Additionally, the company manufactured 1,199 MW of solar modules and 761 MVA of transformers. These results underscore the company’s strong operational performance, driven by an expanding scale and an increasing demand for high-efficiency solar products. The recent commissioning of a 7 GW N-type TOPCon solar cell facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, has further solidified Premier Energies’ position as the largest integrated manufacturer, boasting a total cell capacity of 10.6 GW and a module capacity of 11.1 GW.
Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, commented on the results, highlighting the disciplined execution and operational excellence that contributed to the steady performance in Q2 FY27. He emphasised that the new solar cell and module facilities represent a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory, positioning it to capitalise on the rising demand for high-efficiency solar products. As these facilities ramp up operations, Premier Energies expects to enhance production volumes, reduce costs, and strengthen technological capabilities.
In the broader market context, Premier Energies is undertaking a ₹12,500 crore capital expenditure programme aimed at bolstering its manufacturing capabilities, expanding backward integration into ingots and wafers, and diversifying into inverters, transformers, and battery energy storage systems. The company’s consistent focus on technology innovation and sustainability, coupled with its employee-centric culture, has earned it the Great Place to Work certification for five consecutive years, reinforcing its leadership in the solar manufacturing sector.
