The gross GST revenue collected in the month of December 2021 is Rs 1,29,780 crore of which CGST is Rs 22,578 crore, SGST is Rs 28,658 crore, IGST is Rs 69,155 crore (including Rs 37,527 crore collected on import of goods) and cess is Rs 9,389 crore (including Rs 614 crore collected on import of goods).
The GST Mumbai East Commissionerate of Mumbai Zone, while investigating the business activities of cryptocurrency exchange WazirX have detected GST Evasion of Rs 40.5 Crores. The Commissionerate has also recovered Rs 49.20 Crores in Cash pertaining to GST evaded, interest and penalty.

GST Council has recommended to defer the decision to change the rates in textiles recommended in the 45th GST Council meeting. Consequently, the existing rates in textile sector would continue beyond 1st January, 2022.
Elections to the 25th Central Council and 24th Regional Councils were held successfully on 3rd and 4th December 2021 across 832 notified polling booths. A total of 228 candidates, including 73 for Central Council and 155 for Regional Councils, have contested in the elections. The counting of the votes of the Central and Regional Councils commenced concurrently from 16th December 2021 at all respective Regions.
