Made export of wheat free but only through Custom EDI ports. Now export of wheat is also being permitted from non-EDI Land Custom Stations on Bangladesh and Nepal border. The only requirement will be registration of quantity with DGFT.
Made export of non-basmati rice free by the private parties from privately held stocks only through Custom EDI ports. Two changes are being notified now in this notification: (i) State Trading Enterprises (STEs) including M/s. NCCF & NAFED have also been permitted to export privately held stocks of non-basmati rice. (ii) Export of non-basmati rice is also being permitted from non-EDI Land Custom Stations on Bangladesh and Nepal border. The only requirement for export through LCS will be registration of quantity with DGFT.
Notification No. 97 (RE-2010) /2009-2014 (i) Minimum Export Price of Basmati Rice has been reduced to US$ 700 per MT. Earlier it was US$ 900 or Rs. 41,400/- per MT FOB. MEP is expressed only in terms of US dollar. (ii) Export is now permitted through all EDI ports. Earlier it was allowed only through six ports. (iii) There is no change in any of the other existing conditions for export of basmati rice as have been notified from time to time. These conditions have been consolidated in the column “Nature of Restrictions” in the table of para 2.
The description mentioned for item at Sr.No.23, Table-8, Appendix 37D was “G.V.W. exceeding 20 tonnes : Lorries and Trucks”. This description is corrected to read as “g.v.w. exceeding 5 tonnes but not exceeding 20 tonnes:Lorries and trucks”. However, the ITC HS Code 870422 will remain same.
Minimum Export Price (MEP) of all varieties of onions excluding Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram Onions will be US$ 125 per Metric Ton F.O.B. It was US$ 150 per Metric Ton for general category onion as notified on 11.01.2012. For Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram Onions MEP will continue to be US$ 250 per MT.
Only the name of the import item (input) is modified from ‘Antimony Dioxide/Oxide’ to ‘Antimony Trioxide’. There is no change in either the description or quantity of the inputs or in the description of the export product.
For a new export product ‘Ball Pen Tips of Nickel Silver Wire of 1.60mm diameter’ is notified. SION C-864, C-1802, C-1888 and C-1937 are made harmonious by using uniform description of Tungsten Carbide Balls only and wastage is reduced from 2% to 1%.
The procedure for issue of import license/authorization for import of arms & ammunition by specified sports persons/sports bodies has been dispensed with. NRAI, SAI and SSCB can freely import arms and ammunition for their own use or their affiliates. Renowned Shooter can freely import arms and ammunition for their own use. Import Policy Regime for ‘Air Gun Pellets’ continues to be ‘free’. This notification does not exempt the specified sports persons/sports bodies from the Arms Act, 1959 or Rules thereunder; but merely makes amendments in the Import Policy regime for the specified categories of importers.
