The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has started a nationwide investor awareness campaign on All India Radio to address the increasing number of fraudulent activities on social media platforms (SMPs). The campaign aims to caution investors about the risks associated with stock trading fraud on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, among others. SEBI’s goal is to protect investors and curb these fraudulent activities. The first session, featuring SEBI Chairman Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, will air on August 15, 2025, across various All India Radio stations. The broadcast will reach a wide audience, with specific timings provided for different channels. For instance, in Mumbai, the session will be broadcast on Primary Channel and FM Rainbow/Gold stations from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM, and on Vividh Bharati from 7:45 PM to 8:00 PM. Investors are encouraged to tune in to the inaugural session to learn how to protect themselves from these scams.

SEBI has noticed that a lot of investors have been losing money through stock trading fraud on various Social Media Platforms (SMPs) such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X (previously Twitter), Telegram, Google Play Store, Apple Store etc.
SEBI has launched a campaign
specifically on frauds related to the securities market taking place through SMPs, on All India Radio as it has PAN India reach. The aim of the campaign is to caution investors to protect themselves from fraudsters, to curb fraudulent activities taking place on SMPs and to protect the interest of investors.
To launch this campaign, the first session by SEBI Chairman, Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, would be aired on August 15, 2025 on All India Radio Channels/ Stations at 201 Stations of AIR – Primary Channel/Local Radio, 29 FM Rainbow Stations & 4 FM Gold Stations, 42 Stations of Vividh Bharati Network.
