The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced changes to the settlement schedule for cash, derivatives, and Securities Lending and Borrowing Mechanism (SLBM) segments due to a settlement holiday on September 8, 2025, in addition to the previously declared holiday on September 5, 2025. As a result, the settlement for derivatives traded on September 4, 5, and 8 will now be processed on September 9, 2025. Similarly, the settlement for cash and SLBM transactions that occurred on September 4 and 5 will also be completed on September 9, 2025. Furthermore, trades in the cash and SLBM segments on September 8 and 9 will be settled on September 10, 2025. Stock exchanges have been instructed to inform all stakeholders and the public about these changes and their impact on corporate action dates.

Change in settlement dates for cash and SLBM segments and its impact
Given the fact that September 08, 2025 has also been declared as a settlement holiday by CCs in addition to September 05, 2025, in consultation with Stock Exchanges and Clearing Corporations, the following is informed:
1. The settlement for the derivative segment for the 3 trade days viz. September 04, 2025 (Thursday), September 05, 2025 (Friday) and September 08, 2025 (Monday) will be undertaken on September 09, 2025 (Tuesday).
2. The settlement for the cash and SLBM segment for the trade days of September 04, 2025 (Thursday) and September 05, 2025 (Friday), will be undertaken on September 09, 2025 (Tuesday).
3. The settlement for the cash and SLBM segment for the trade days of September 08, 2025 (Monday) and September 09, 2025 (Tuesday) will be undertaken on September 10, 2025 (Wednesday).
In this context Stock Exchanges have also informed all stakeholders/public and their Trading Members, including by issuing circulars, regarding impact of the above on the corporate action ex-date/ cum-date.
