Ministry of Finance, exercising authority under clause (bc) of section 2 of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, has issued notification S.O. 2470(E) dated 26th June 2024. This notification supersedes previous notifications S.O. 1002(E) dated 1st March 2024 and S.O. 3068(E) dated 27th September 2016. It specifies goods for the purposes of the Act, consulted with the Securities and Exchange Board of India. The Schedule lists various categories of goods including cereals, pulses, oilseeds, spices, metals, precious metals, gems, forestry products, fibres, energy resources, chemicals, construction materials, sweeteners, plantation products, dairy and poultry items, dry fruits, activities, services, rights, interests, events, and other commodities.

S.O. 2470(E).In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (bc) of section 2 of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 (42 of 1956), and in supersession of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) number S.O. 1002 (E) dated 1st March, 2024 and S.O. 3068(E) dated the 27th September, 2016, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, sub-section (ii), except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government, in consultation with the Securities and Exchange Board of India established under section 3 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), hereby notifies the goods specified in the Schedule for the purposes of clause (bc) of section 2 of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 (42 of 1956), namely: –
