Kamal Kumar Kalia Vs Union of India (Supreme Court)

The Court is convened through Video Conferencing.

Having heard Mr. Saju Jakob, learned counsel for the petitioner as also Mr. Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General appearing on behalf of the respondent-Union of India, we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition as the petitioner is not a borrower.

However, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that  Circular dated 27.03.2020 issued by the Reserve Bank of India has not been implemented by the banks.

In view of the above, we direct the Reserve Bank of India to ensure implementation of the Circular dated 27.03.2020 in its letter and spirit.

With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
