Subject: Committee on ITR Forms – Soliciting views for submission of suggestions
The CBDT has constituted a Committee to look into the complexities involved in the existing Income-tax Return Forms, address grievances/ concerns of the taxpayers, align the forms with the amended provisions of the Income-tax Act and suggest modification for the same.
The terms of reference for the Committee are:
- To study the existing ITR Forms and suggest modifications to the same with a view to align the forms with latest provisions, simplification of forms for the benefit/ convenience of the taxpayers;
- To capture all the information relevant for risk analysis in the suggested modifications;
- To study the international experience and international best practices with respect to details captured by the other countries like USA, Singapore etc.;
- To suggest specific amendments to the ITR Forms
