Subject: Setting up of office for operationalising Interim Boards for Settlement- reg.
In continuation to the Notification No.91 of 2021 dated the 10th August, 2021 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II, section 3, sub-section (ii) and in pursuance of Para 4(2) of the e-Settlement Scheme, 2021, made by the Central Government vide Notification No.129 of 2021 dated the 1st November, 2021 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II, section 3, sub-section (ii), the Central Board of Direct Taxes (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Board’) hereby sets up office for the Interim Boards for Settlement (hereinafter referred to as ‘the IBS’) as specified in Column 2 of the Schedule below, with their headquarters at the places mentioned in Column 3 of the said Schedule and comprising of Income-tax Authorities as specified in Column 4 of the said Schedule.

2. Secretary IBS, Delhi shall be under the administrative control of the senior-most Member of IBS-I, Delhi and shall attend to the administrative work and such other functions of IBS-1,II and III, Delhi, as may be specified.
3. Secretary IBS, Mumbai shall be under the administrative control of the senior-most Member of IBS-V, Mumbai and shall attend to the administrative work and such other functions of IBS-V and VI, Mumhai, as may he specified.
4. Secretary IBS, Kolkata and Chennai shall be under the administrative control of the senior-most Member of IBS-Kolkata and Chennai respectively and shall attend to the administrative work and such other functions of IBS, Kolkata and Chennai respectively, as may be specified.
5. The IBS shall have such ministerial staff, executive or consultant to assist the Members of the Interim Board, as considered necessary by the Board. These shall be provided by the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-tax concerned, who is the jurisdictional Principal CCIT for the IBS concerned, in consultation with the Board.
6. This order shall come into force with effect from 01st November, 2021.
