ALERT NOTICE NO – 01/2018-19

Sub.: Alert Notice regarding passing out of Input Tax Credit on the strength of fake invoices without supply of underlying goods/services by various shell/fictitious entities- Reg.

During the course of investigation initiated by DGGI, Visakhapatnam Zonal Unit(VZU), it has come to light that the following entities are engaged in generating and selling tax invoices to various entities without supply of underlying goods resulting in irregular availment and utilization of Input Tax Credit (ITC) by the recipients of fake invoices:-

2. To the extent that recipients of invoices from the aforesaid fake entities could be identified by Visakhapatnam Zonal Unit, action has been initiated by VZU for reversal of irregular ITC. However, it is likely that there may be other entities located in various GST Commissionerates across India, who would have availed and utilized irregular ITC on the strength of invoices issued by the entities listed above.

3. In view of the above, appropriate action against such recipient units may kindly be initiated to reverse the irregular ITC. Any recovery made/ SCN issued in pursuance of this notice may also kindly be intimated to this office.
