Haryana VAT – Enhancement in basic rate of tax from 4% to 5%

The Haryana Government has issued Notification No. S.O. /H.A. 6/2003/S. 7/2010 dated 15 February, 2010 enhancing the basic rate of tax as mentioned below. The new rate is effective 15 February, 2010.

Goods falling under Schedule C and liable to tax at 4% 4% 5%

However, the following goods shall continue to be liable to tax at 4%:

  • industrial inputs and packing materials, as defined under Entry 102 of Schedule C
  • declared goods, as defined under the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956

Notification mentioned above is as follows:-

Notification , Dated:  15 Feb. , 2010

No. S.O. /H.A.6/2003/S.7/2010. — In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (iii) of clause (a) sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Haryana Value Added Tax Act, 2003 (Act 6 of 2003), the Governor of Haryana hereby directs that tax payable by a Value Added Tax dealer on sale of goods specified in Schedules ‘C’ from Serial No. 1 to 101 shall be calculated at the rate of five per cent with immediate effect.

  10. D forms have been abolished long ago from the CST Act. Whether it is Intra state sale or Inter state sale to the govt department no concessional rate is applicable against D or any other form

    May be I wrong but If this is sale in same state then no concessional VAT Form will be avilable wether it is sold to Goverment Dept or to any type of company but if this is inter state sale then can sale to dept. against concessional form like C, D,I e.g.
