IndusInd Bank has announced a significant enhancement to its outward remittance services by partnering with J.P. Morgan Payments. The collaboration will enable IndusInd Bank customers to send payments in 123 currencies, directly settling in the beneficiary’s local currency. This development is facilitated through J.P. Morgan Payments’ Xpedite solution, which aims to simplify the remittance process by reducing the need for intermediary currency conversions.

The Xpedite solution leverages J.P. Morgan’s extensive global network, providing automated currency rate feeds and streamlining processing to ensure faster and more efficient transfers. Currently accessible through IndusInd Bank branches, the service is set to expand to online and mobile banking platforms, offering customers the convenience of initiating outward remittances at any time.

Ganesh Sankaran, Executive Director of IndusInd Bank, highlighted the growing demand for seamless international payments as customers increasingly engage with global markets. He emphasised that the collaboration with J.P. Morgan Payments enhances the bank’s cross-border payment capabilities, expanding access to a broader range of currencies and enabling direct local-currency settlements. This move aligns with IndusInd Bank’s commitment to providing a more connected and convenient banking experience.

Guhaprasath Rajagopal, Head of India Payments at J.P. Morgan Payments, stated that the Xpedite solution would deliver an integrated cross-border payments experience for IndusInd Bank customers. By combining J.P. Morgan’s global platform with local expertise, the partnership aims to facilitate faster and safer money transfers, reinforcing J.P. Morgan’s role as a trusted correspondent bank for cross-border solutions.

This collaboration marks a strategic enhancement of IndusInd Bank’s ability to cater to international payment needs, offering customers access to a wider range of currencies through a single banking relationship. As global markets continue to evolve, analysts view this partnership as a timely move, positioning IndusInd Bank to better serve its diverse customer base and meet the increasing demand for efficient cross-border transactions.
