Exide Industries Limited has announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended 30th September 2026, showcasing a strong financial performance. The board of directors approved the results during a meeting held on 4th November 2026. The company reported a 20.3% year-on-year (YoY) increase in standalone revenues for Q2 FY27, amounting to Rs. 5,026 crore, while the half-year revenue rose by 18.9% YoY to Rs. 10,331 crore. Profit after tax (PAT) experienced a substantial growth of 75.1% YoY in Q2, reaching Rs. 386 crore, and a 46.7% increase for the half-year, totalling Rs. 794 crore.
The company’s strong performance was driven by healthy demand across its key business segments and the continued benefits of GST 2.0 reforms. Exide Industries also benefited from its ‘One Exide’ operating model, which contributed to improved execution. The company managed to expand its EBITDA margin by 270 basis points YoY in Q2, aided by cost optimisation initiatives, calibrated price increases, and volume growth. Despite elevated input costs due to geopolitical challenges, Exide Industries maintained a robust liquidity position with zero debt and healthy cash flow generation.
In addition to its financial results, Exide Industries announced a change in its Registrar and Share Transfer Agent (RTA) from MUFG Intime India Private Limited to Maheshwari Datamatics Private Limited. The transition process is underway, and the effective date of the change will be communicated once formalities are completed. Furthermore, Exide Energy Solutions Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, commissioned a 6 GWh lithium-ion cell gigafactory in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in the company’s New Energy business journey.
Market analysts have noted Exide Industries’ impressive growth trajectory, driven by its strategic initiatives and strong demand across its business segments. The company’s focus on cost optimisation and expansion into the lithium-ion cell market positions it well for future growth. However, analysts remain cautious about the potential impact of ongoing geopolitical challenges and currency fluctuations on input costs. As Exide Industries enters the festive season, it aims to capitalise on healthy demand indicators while navigating the high base of last year’s post-GST demand surge.
