Applicability: Any person who is engaged in the business of export of Software outside India is liable to file Softex Form.

Person: It includes corporate or non corporate , whether or not situate in SEZ, STPI etc.

Softex Filing : Units working in Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) or units in SEZ, STPI and other scheme must file Softex Form with concerned jurisdictional STPI Director.

Penalty for Non-Filing Softex Form : The foreign remittance received shall be consider General Receipts and in this account of non-filing bank account could be freeze.

Non- STPI registration : 1) Persons dealing in software export can register itself as NON-STPI unit under STPI to avail Softex Certification.

2) In order to become Non- STPI , Submission of application form along with the supporting documents.

3) registration Certificate will issued after successful application for the period of 3 year. However, prior 3 month of expiry assesse should file application for renewal.

4) Non- STPI shall submit quarterly and annual report to respective STPI Centre.

5) Registered Non- STPI shall get their Softex Certified as per Rbi Guidelines as per specified fees.
