The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, has issued Notification No. 19/2024-Customs (N.T.) dated 8th March, 2024. This amendment brings crucial changes to the earlier notification No. 61/94-Customs (N.T.) dated 21st November, 1994, specifically impacting baggage handling at Bhopal airport in the State of Madhya Pradesh.

The amendment introduces a new entry in the Table against serial number 10 for the State of Madhya Pradesh. In column (3), pertaining to the airport, a new item “(c) Bhopal” is added. This signifies the authorization for “Unloading of baggage and loading of baggage.”

The modification aims to streamline and regulate baggage-related processes at Bhopal airport, ensuring efficient handling and adherence to customs regulations. Such amendments play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall effectiveness of customs operations and ensuring compliance with the Customs Act, 1962.***
