The Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) issued an important announcement on 4th June 2024, regarding stringent action against candidates who engaged in unfair practices during the May 2024 Chartered Accountants Examinations.

The announcement highlighted the strict policy of the Examination Department, prohibiting the possession of mobile phones or any electronic devices inside the examination centers during CA Examinations. Despite these regulations, certain examinees were found in possession of mobile phones during the May 2024 examinations.

Upon discovery of mobile phones and communication channels such as Telegram groups and WhatsApp groups on the devices, the Examination Department took immediate action. All mobile phones were confiscated, and reports were compiled from the Examination Centers and other functionaries.

The Examination Committee of ICAI viewed this violation seriously, recognizing it as tarnishing the institute’s image. Consequently, the committee decided to debar all candidates involved in taking mobile phones into the examination hall from appearing in Chartered Accountants Examinations for the next five years.

The announcement serves as a reminder to students to meticulously follow the Instructions to Examinees provided with their admit cards. Compliance with these instructions is crucial to maintain the integrity of the examination process and uphold the reputation of the institute.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Subject: Stringent Action against candidates for adopting Unfair Means during CA Examination

As per the policy of Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, among others, possession of Mobile Phone or any other electronic device / gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination centre during Chartered Accountants Examinations.

During May 2024 Chartered Accountants Examinations, it was observed that certain examinees were found in the physical possession of the Mobile Phone and some telegram group/WhatsApp group/other channels of communication were found in their mobile phones. All the mobile phones were confiscated, and reports were taken from the Examination Centre and other Functionaries.

The Examination Committee of the Institute, has taken a serious view of above and decided to debar all such candidates, who were involved in tarnishing the image of the Institute by taking mobile phones inside the examination hall, for the next 5 years from appearing in the Chartered Accountants Examinations.

In view of the above, students are advised to go through the Instructions to Examinees provided along with the admit card, carefully and familiarize themselves with the same to ensure the compliance in letter and spirit.
