Election to the Council from EIRC of the ICSI-2021

Duty of Election Observers

In terms of Rule 23 of the Company Secretaries (Election to the Council) Rules 2006, the Election observers appointed by the Returning Officer for election to the Council from Eastern India Regional Constituency (EIRC) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) shall perform the following duties.

  • To assist the Returning Officer in the conduct of free and fair polls and counting of Votes;
  • To oversee the efficient and effective management of the electoral process at the polling booth(s);
  • To act as the eyes and ears of the Institute/Returning Officer during the period of the election and to ensure that the Company Secretaries Act 1980, Regulations, Rules, Procedures, Instructions, Election Code of Conduct and guidelines/advisories/directives related to elections are strictly and impartially complied with by all concerned;
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Returning Officer.
