Summary: The Indian government, under its Vision Bharat 2047, has launched the PAN 2.0 project to streamline and modernize the Permanent Account Number (PAN) system. This initiative aims to enhance tax compliance, improve governance, and ease business operations through digitalization. The project, approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), will integrate multiple platforms, including the e-filing portal, UTIITSL Portal, and Protean e-gov portal, into a single, unified solution. This will provide users with a one-stop platform for services such as applications, updates, corrections, Aadhar-PAN linking, and online PAN validation. The focus is on reducing paperwork by implementing eco-friendly, paperless processes while ensuring enhanced security for personal data through a PAN Data Vault. Additionally, the PAN will be issued free of cost with faster processing times. A dedicated helpdesk will be available to address user queries. Introduction:

In the current realm of the incumbent government, aims to envisage Visit Bharat 2047 fundamental motto will be digitalization, transparency, ease of business and strengthening local merchandise and trade which reduces dependency on geographical counterparts for, economic utilities and with that intent in mind, the Modi Government enhancing current machinery for the ease of utility for PAN Card services for financial integration, transparency and fostering better tax compliance and governance & seamless services to taxpayers by launching an e-governance project for streamline and modernize the process of issuing and managing PAN & TAN, making it user-friendly & efficient utility for financial integration with different layers of ecosystem.

Enhanced machinery for PAN Card Services:

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the Income Tax Department Permanent Account Number (PAN) 2.0 Project. This program aims to strengthen the ecosystem by consolidating the financial services & reducing the dependency on multiple platforms: the e-filling portal, UTIITSL Portal, and Protean e-gov portal, as with the implementation of this project it will be a single stop solution to address all user requirements and single unified portal. This will also be a placeholder to comprehensively redress all the grievances and improve the mechanism to provide all services such as application, updates, corrections, Aadhar-PAN linking, re-issuance request and even online PAN validation.

This project motto aims to digital transformation and integrating the landscape with a focus on eco-friendly process, ease of access & speedy service delivery, single source of truth to address all user requirements, better security infrastructure optimization with greater quality services & paperless process, while establishing PAN as a common identifier for all digital systems of specified government agencies.
