Government notifies cricket events of national importance

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 1st March, 2021

S.O. 976(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (s) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Sports Broadcasting Signals (Mandatory Sharing with Prasar Bharati) Act, 2007 (11 of 2007) read with sub-rule (1) of rule 6 of the Sports Broadcast Signals (Mandatory Sharing with Prasar Bharati) Rules, 2007, and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting number S.O. 3264(E), dated the 22nd October, 2016, the Central Government hereby notifies the sporting events with respect to cricket, as the sporting events of national importance, namely:-

1. All official One-Day and Twenty-20 matches played by the Indian Men’s Cricket Team and such Test matches as are considered to be of high public interest by the Central Government;

2. Semi-finals and finals of Men’s World Cup and International Cricket Council Championship Trophy.
