Subject: – Identification of officials who are either absconding or are on unauthorized leave- reg.
The undersigned is directed to invite your kind attention to CBDT‘s order of even number dated 20.03.2017 vide which a Committee was constituted to carry out a one time count of all officers in the Income tax organization and identify such of those Group A officers as are presently on unauthorized leave or are absconding. In this order it was also stipulated that all the Cadre Controlling Authorities shall conduct similar exercise in respect of Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ officials and send the information in this regard to the aforesaid Committee which will thereafter submit it to the Board.
2. You are accordingly requested to get conducted the requisite exercise identifying all the Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ officials posted in your charge who are presently on unauthorized leave or are absconding and intimate the names of all such officials as are presently on unauthorized leave or are absconding to this Committee. The information being sent should also include details of action, if any, individually taken or being initiated against these officials. The requisite information should be sent to the undersigned, being chair of this Committee, at the earliest and in no case later than April 15, 2017. The issue is being monitored at the highest level and may accordingly please be accorded the utmost priority.
