Notification No. 17 (RE-2001) 1997-2002, Dated: 27.06.2001

Notification No. 17 (RE-2001) issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on June 27, 2001, brings amendments to the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items. The notification deletes specific conditions under various Exim headings and codes, including for items such as calcareous stones, digital subscriber line systems, DVD/CD players, and steel furniture. The amendment also removes conditions for several specific Exim code numbers related to digital and audio tape cassettes, as well as CD/DVD lens cleaners. The updated policy now permits these items to be imported freely without any specific conditions. These changes are made to streamline the import process for the listed items and are issued in public interest.

NEW DELHI: 27^th  June, 2001

S.O (E) – In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade  (Development  and Regulation) Act, 1992  read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 1997-2002 published on 31^st March, 1997 (RE-98)  as amended from time to time, namely –

“ 1.The condition appearing in column 4 against Exim Headings 12.11, 25.04, 25.06, 25.18, 25.26, 40.08, 73.03, 73.06, 73.07, 73.09, 73.12,  73.17, 73.18, 74.15, 76.16, 84.81, 85.23, 87.14 and 90.15 shall be deleted.

2. The condition appearing   in   column  4   against  Exim   code  nos.   841869 01, 841989 03, 842220 00, 842420 00 and 844790 02 shall be deleted.

3. After amendment the following will read as under:
