Summary: Notification No. 06/2026-Integrated Tax (Rate), dated 27 October 2026, issued by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) through G.S.R. 937(E), amends Notification No. 8/2017-Integrated Tax (Rate), dated 28 June 2017. Exercising powers under Sections 5, 6 and 20 of the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, read with Sections 15, 16 and 148 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, the Central Government revises input tax credit conditions and introduces specified service-rate entries with effect from 1 November 2026. The amendments revise ITC restrictions for hotel accommodation, restaurant services, specified railway catering and outdoor catering. They permit specified credits relating to inputs or input services procured in the same line of business while restricting other credits. For hotel accommodation and outdoor catering, where the supplier of the eligible input service charges integrated tax above 5%, the available same-line-business credit is restricted to the amount calculated at 5%. The notification illustrates these restrictions through hotel accommodation and wedding catering transactions.
