Hero MotoCorp Limited, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has announced its financial results for the second quarter of FY’27, showcasing a robust performance across all segments. The company reported a consolidated revenue of INR 14,971 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2026, marking a 23% year-on-year increase from INR 12,218 crore in Q2 FY’26. The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at INR 1,861 crore, reflecting a significant 41% growth compared to the same period last year.
The company’s strong financial performance is attributed to a 10% volume growth in standalone operations during Q2 FY’27, with 18.68 lakh motorcycles and scooters sold. This growth was driven by sustained consumer demand across markets and segments, leading to a consistent improvement in the internal combustion engine (ICE) Vahan share. Despite facing commodity headwinds, Hero MotoCorp maintained steady EBITDA margins at 13.4%, translating to an EBITDA of INR 1,968 crore, an 8% growth over the previous year.
For the half-year period ending September 2026, the company reported a consolidated revenue of INR 28,097 crore, a 28% increase year-on-year, and a PAT of INR 3,278 crore, up by 8% from H1 FY’26. The results include a gain of INR 397 crore from the equity consolidation of an associate company following its capital raise. Hero MotoCorp’s parts, accessories, and merchandising business also saw a 27% year-on-year growth, recording INR 1,941 crore in revenue.
Hero MotoCorp’s Chief Executive Officer, Harshavardhan Chitale, highlighted the company’s strong performance, noting the significant contribution of scooters and the electric mobility segment to overall growth. The company’s scooter portfolio grew by 47% to 2.40 lakh units, with the ICE scooters gaining market share, led by the Destini and Xoom series. The VIDA electric portfolio recorded a 76% year-on-year retail growth, reaching 66,531 units during the quarter.
The company’s global business expanded its footprint by entering Germany, its 54th global market, and launching new models in Bangladesh. Additionally, Hero MotoCorp continued to strengthen its premium segment, appointing Anuj Dua as Chief Business Officer for this segment and achieving significant milestones with its Harley-Davidson business. Analysts note that Hero MotoCorp’s strategic focus on premiumisation and diversification, along with its robust financial performance, positions the company well for sustained growth in the coming quarters.
