Summary: DGFT, through Trade Notice No. 21/2026-27-DGFT dated August 21, 2026, has introduced an automated facility for granting Export Obligation (EO) extension in Advance Authorisation (AA) and EPCG Authorisation cases considered by the PRC/EPCG Committee. Where the Committee approves an EO extension, exporters will no longer need to submit a separate extension application to the concerned Regional Authority. After approval, the system will issue a letter for payment of the prescribed EO extension fee on the submitted Committee file. Once the exporter pays the requisite fee through the DGFT portal and submits the response, the EO extension file will be automatically created and approved and the corresponding extension letter generated. The facility eliminates re-application following the Committee decision and reduces subsequent manual processing and verification by the Regional Authority. The revised EO expiry date will be reflected in the concerned Authorisation’s system records and transmitted to ICEGATE. A Help Manual is available on the DGFT portal for stakeholders.
