Shri Prasanta Mahapatra has taken charge as Executive Director of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Mumbai. In his new role, he will oversee SEBI’s Corporation Finance Investigation Department and Recovery and Refund Department. Before his promotion, he served as Chief General Manager and, since joining SEBI in April 1999, handled various departments including the Market Regulation Department, Investigation Department, Enquiries and Adjudication Department, Market Intermediaries Regulation and Supervision Department, Corporation Finance Department, and Investment Management Department. He also served at SEBI’s Eastern Regional Office in Kolkata and was a member of various domestic policy-making and advisory committees dealing with areas of mutual interest and cooperation with international regulators. Shri Prasanta Mahapatra took charge as Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Mumbai. He will handle the Corporation Finance Investigation Department and Recovery and Refund Department of SEBI.
Prior to his promotion as Executive Director, Shri Mahapatra was Chief General Manager and has handled diverse departments since joining SEBI in the year April 1999. He has served in various departments including Market Regulation Department, Investigation Department, Enquiries and Adjudication Department, Market Intermediaries Regulation and Supervision Department, Corporation Finance Department and Investment Management Department. He has also served at the Eastern Regional Office of the Board at Kolkata.
