Import of Sandal Wood under Exim Code No. 44039922 will be restricted and subject to a ceiling of 5,000 cum in each licensing year. Imports will be permitted only against an Import License issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. The Import License shall be issued in consultation with the Ministry of Environment and Forest. The ceiling of Sandal Wood for each financial year will be monitored by the Ministry of Environment and Forest to ensure that it is not exceeded.
Applications received after the last date shall be summarily rejected, as Para 9.2 and Para 9.3 shall not be applicable. Date of exports shall be determined in terms ofPara 9.12. Application form ‘ANF for Para 3.8.6’ is annexed, as Annexure I.
In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2004-2009, as amended, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in FTP, 2004-2009 (Updated as on 19.4.2007).
The Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC), set up by the Ministry of Environment & Forests has accorded ‘one time approval’ for import of GM Soyabean oil (crude de-gummed/ refined form) derived from Round-up-Ready Soybean for the purpose of consumption after refining. Therefore, Condition No. 18 of Chapter 1A (General Notes Regarding Import Policy) notified vide Notification No.2 (RE-2006)/2004-2009 dated 7.4.2006 will not apply to the import of said Soyabean Oil till further orders.
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 read with Section 3(2) of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) and also read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment to the 1st sentence of Paragraph 2.3 of Notification No. 38(RE-2007)/2004-2009, dated 15.10.2007 as amended through Notification No. 45(RE-2007)/2004-2009, dated 31.10.2007, and through Notification No. 61(RE-2007)/2004-2009, dated 12.12.2007; with immediate effect.
In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 read with Section 3(2) of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) and also read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Central Government hereby adds the following entry in Chapter 30 of Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items (1st September, 2004-31st March, 2009).
For exports during 2007-08, all Status Holders (having status recognition w.e.f 1.4.2007) exporting products covered under ITC HS Chapters 1 to 24, shall be incentivized with duty credit scrip equal to 10% of FOB value of agricultural exports (including benefits entitled under paragraph 3.8.2) provided that the total benefits for all status holders put together does not exceed Rs 100 Cr
In second paragraph of Condition 6 of Chapter I A (General Notes to Import Policy) of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 2004-2009 notified vide Notification No. 23 dated 14th August, 2007 and amended vide Notification No. 26 dated 5th September, 2007, M/s MMTC Limited/ M/s Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Ltd. (TANCEM).
In case of 1-Bromo-3-Chloro Propane, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Ozone Cell has clarified that this item is not listed in the Ozone Depleting Substances List of Montreal Protocol. Accordingly, import of this item may be considered free.
