PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 66 (RE-98)/1997-2002

NEW DELHI : DATED THE 13th JANUARY,1999

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II Section 3- Sub-Section (ii) vide S.O.No.283(E) dated 31.3.1997 the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the Hand-book of Procedures (Vol.1),(RE:98), 1997-2002.

Paragraph 8.38 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1 ) (RE:98) ,1997-2002 shall be amended to read as follows:

” The gold/silver/platinum shall be released to the exporter of jewellery by the nominated agencies/RBI authorised banks in multiples of 10 gms. or in Ten Tola Bars in respect of gold. However, silver shall be released to the exporters in multiples of 1 kg only. Any balance of gold/silver/platinum shall be available to the exporters along with his future entitlement. The gold/silver shall be released by the nominated agencies in terms of 0.995/0.999 fineness and platinum in terms of 0.9999 fineness.”
