Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced the implementation date for the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022. As per Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2024/195, issued in Mumbai on July 25, 2024, the new regulations will come into force on November 1, 2024. These amendments are made under the authority granted by Section 30, in conjunction with clause (g) of sub-section (2) of Section 11 and clauses (d) and (e) of Section 12A of the SEBI Act, 1992. The amendments aim to further strengthen the legal framework to prevent insider trading, ensuring market integrity and protecting investor interests.

Mumbai, the 25th July, 2024

No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2024/195.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 read with clause (g) of sub-section (2) of section 11 and clauses (d) and (e) of section 12A of Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), the Board hereby appoints the 1st day of November, 2024 as the date on which the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Prohibition of Insider Trading) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 shall come into force.
